History: "Time is for a change" Steven A. Yeaman

Steven A. Yeaman was born in the year of 1953 in Rexburg, Idaho, He started  as a musician and composer at the age of 6. At that time, he invented an instrument called the mouthamaphone ( he plays his hands) That’s when he realized that music and sound was in his destiny.

Steven's dad was an active Outdoorsman’s “Outdoorsman’s” and took him all over Idaho River rafting The Salmon River, The snake River, and many others. By doing so he was surrounded by the sounds of the river rapids smashing against the rocks, the birds chirping, the winds flowing through the trees and the crackling thunder of the lightning rainstorms. Steve's sense of music and sound has changed his life by reflecting those beautiful and peaceful experiences into his work.  He still carries on to this day.

In 1967, he put his first rock band together at the age of 11,and played before a crowd of 400. At the age of 13 he put another band together and played before a crowd of 2500 people. The bug had bit him. He knew that this was what he was going to do the rest of his life. After a rocky high school experience, he came up with a band named Adrian, who became very popular band in Salt lake city, Utah. Played at the Hansen planetarium doing futuristic space music with dancers, lasers and a star show in 1973. The recording as primitive as it is to this day, sounds way ahead of his time. He toured with his band until 1979 ( see picture above) and  in 1977, he co-wrote and co-produced The Race, which was videotaped at that time with a state of the art 2inch video using video synthesis, video feedback and the music was played live and extremely tight. Again this was way ahead of its time.

In 1980 Steven headed to California to do a movie called Cataclysm. It was his first film and he took it like a duck to water. Then He ran a comedy club where he would book at the time, the biggest acts Like Kevin Neiland, George lopez, Marine Murphy, Tommy Sledge and too many to list, But still doing music and sound.  In 1990 he opened his first studio which was using the hybrid arts digital editing for post production   and at the time was the state of the art. This is when he learned to master sound editing and he has been doing it ever since. He opened his second studio in Santa Monica on Lincoln and Olympic and it was named Say Music And Sound. Which its has been ever since.

He is done over 50 films (which entails), dialogue editing, sound FX, Foley, ADR, Scoring and 5.1 Mixing. Steven Yeaman was one of the first to do a one-stop-shop sound Postproduction.

Now he has built his own studio, and spared no expense building it. It is a state of the art studio that sounds absolutely amazing for 5.1 Dolby Digital DTS and LTRT’s. He has learned mixing from some of the best mixers in Hollywood.
